Job Description: Job Description:We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Procurement Specialist at our Metal Fabrication facility. As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in establishing procurement processes, ensuring compliance, managing supplier negotiations, and delivering cost savings and supply security projects. You will also be responsible for supporting inventory management programs and developing purchasing reports and improvement plans.Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage procurement processes in collaboration with Site Procurement Managers.
  • Develop technical expertise of goods and services to be purchased and their end application.
  • Ensure that all purchases comply with the guidelines set by the Global Category Director/ Regional Category Manager/ Site Procurement Manager.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure best market rates.
  • Deliver cost savings and supply security projects on time.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain teams to support inventory management programs.
  • Develop purchasing reports and improvement plans.
  • Coordinate with owners and end users to establish acceptable service levels and specifications for materials to be purchased.
  • Ensure timely processing and delivery of purchase orders.
  • Act as a liaison between Operations, Quality, Technical Supply Chain teams, and Global/ Regional Category Management teams.
  • Utilize ERP solutions such as JD Edwards, Excel, and SAP for various procurement activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the Metal Fabrication industry as a Procurement Specialist
  • Proficiency in 3M software applications
  • Proficiency in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software
  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
  • Knowledge of ERP Solutions and their application in the Metal Fabrication industry
  • Familiarity with buying processes and strategies
  • Experience in Global Procurement and understanding of international trade regulations
  • Proven track record in managing procurement activities
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software
