Job Description: Your Opportunity:The University of Alberta Hospital Campus Rehabilitation & Allied Health program is seeking a Professional Practice Lead – Physiotherapy to provide clinical practice support to Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants. The successful candidate will have broad clinical experience in adult acute and ambulatory care settings, an interest or experience in adult education, best practice and clinical research. The hospital offers a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services, including specialized adult services within Cardiac Sciences, Neurosciences, Surgery, Medicine, Orthopedics, Renal, Critical Care, Burns, Transplants and Trauma inpatient programs, as well as a vast number of ambulatory clinics such as Cystic Fibrosis, Plastic Surgery, Blood Disorders and Neuromuscular Disease. The University of Alberta Hospital is centrally located in the capital city, the heart of the academic campus, Old Strathcona and the beautiful river valley.Description:As a Physiotherapist III, you will be an integral member of our team through your leadership to other healthcare professionals (PT Is, PT IIs, Assistants) where you will facilitate the development and ongoing monitoring of clinical standards of practice for physiotherapy and patient (client, resident) care protocols in the department and geographical area. You will collaborate with management to support the development, implementation and evaluation of the department’s operational plan strategies and may coordinate and monitor the care delivery for daily operations.

Required Qualifications:Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program; or bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years’ experience in an acute care hospital setting within a tertiary level or large urban facility. Experience with quality improvement and change management required. Experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of discipline specific professional practice standards and leads professional development and research to facilitate continued growth and knowledge translation of frontline Physiotherapy and Therapy Assistant staff. Proficient in outlining and defining discipline specific practice expectations, standards and competencies which have a positive impact on the quality and safety of patient care. Experience in education, observation and hands-on support to assist the team in developing and maintaining core clinical competencies and documentation standards. Experience with organizing educational activities to advance practice by preparing, presenting and arranging in-services, communities of practice and other educational events. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in working with pediatric patients is an asset. Experience in adult education, teaching, facilitating educational sessions or in-services would be an asset. Experience n in provincial or zone working groups.
