Job Title: Application & Infrastructure Analyst II

Location: Saskatchewan – Edmonton, AB

Job Description: The Information Technology Branch of the Edmonton Police Service requires an Application and Infrastructure Analyst to support the intelligence and geospatial systems teams. The successful candidate must be well-versed with data integration processes and tools, geographic information system processes and tools, be self-motivated, well organized and highly analytical, in addition to possessing excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities of this position include

  • Provide technical expertise and support for the installation, configuration and support of the data warehouse, data integration tools, geodatabase and geospatial toolsets.
  • Provide technical expertise regarding application installation and configuration or business intelligence and geospatial projects.
  • Plan and apply updates and patches to applications and servers.
  • Assist users with the use of 3rd party and custom developed applications.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient running of various data integration and geospatial toolsets.
  • Support and maintain data integration and geospatial processes.
  • Provide daily operational support of the business intelligence and geospatial environment.
  • Create system documentation including data integration models, systems designs and operational support documents.
  • Working collaboratively with all members of the IT Branch to ensure that all application issues are addressed in a timely manner and that proper coordination is carried out to minimize disruption to the provision of IT services.
  • Performing related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a related discipline and four (4) years relevant experience OR Post Secondary Diploma in a related discipline and five (5) years relevant experience OR One (1) year related certificate* and seven (7) years relevant experience (*relevant computer certificiate programs generally have a minimum of 700+ hours and will include relevant course work to the position. Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade or GED is required).
  • Work experience installing, configuring and using the following applications would be considered a significant asset: FME, ArcGIS Pro, WhereScape Red, WhereScape 3D, i2 IBase, i2 Analysts Notebook and Validatar.
  • Work experience with the following tools would be considered an asset: Windows Server OS, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure DevOps and Microsoft PowerBI.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data integration standards and best practices.
  • Exceptional problem solving and metadata skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Experience or working knowledge of current public safety solutions would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic work and team environment.

Hours of Work:33.75 hours per week between 0800-1600 hours, Monday – Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program. Incumbents must be available for call-out outside of these hours on a rotational basis.Salary Range:21M, Salary Grade 032, $51.17 – $65.30 (Hourly), $3,454.00 – $4,407.80 (Bi-Weekly), $91,150.51 – $115,044.04 (Annually).
