It is essential that all staff and physicians receive training and understand their roles and responsibilities in this field.Summary of responsibilitiesThis role is ideal for pharmacy students or international pharmacy graduates aiming to advance their careers toward becoming licensed pharmacists. The position focuses on obtaining comprehensive medication histories from patients and supporting pharmacists with clinical tasks such as patient education and data collection.General Accountabilities:
· Conduct detailed medication history interviews with patients to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
· Assist pharmacists in educating patients about medications, including proper usage, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.
· Collect and document relevant clinical information to support pharmacists in providing optimal patient care.
· Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and continuity of care.
· Support daily pharmacy operations as needed, including documentation, administrative tasks, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and procedures.Requirements of the job· Pharmacy graduate from an international program. The language of instruction must be English.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
· Ability to gather and document information accurately and efficiently.
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
· Familiarity with hospital pharmacy workflows is an asset but not required
· Experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory.
· Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices.
· Familiarity with pharmacy technician responsibilities is an asset.
· Knowledge of medication administration protocols.
· Proficiency in medical terminology to facilitate effective communication.
· Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
· Knowledge of Software preferred but not mandatory.
