We are looking for a talented Full-time Producer to lead a team of journalists who deliver stories that resonate with Canada’s Arabic community. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the Arabic community in Canada, strong background in journalism and a passion for innovation in news coverage.What you will be doing:Lead a team of journalists to produce a national newscast for Canadians who speak ArabicGuide daily and long-term editorial plans of the Arabic team including coverage of breaking news and development of original storiesTake a lead role in vetting content to make sure it meets editorial standardsDevelop and coach the team to maximize performanceWrite daily stories and promos, when neededWork with the digital team to increase OMNI’s digital footprintCollaborate with Rogers Sports & Media teams in the production of contentBuild a strong network within the Arabic-Canadian communityWhat you will bring:Speak fluently in Modern Arabic, read and write Arabic script, and have a minimum basic working knowledge of EnglishYou have a deep understanding of the Arabic community in CanadaYou have strong editorial judgement and know how to vet stories for different platformsYou have experience managing a newsroom and people.You know how a TV newsroom works, live news and control room experience is an assetYou are willing to explore new ideas and approaches to content and productionYou are an excellent communicator, especially in pressure situationsYou are a collaborator and believe in team work​To protect our people, brand and assets, a pre-employment background check will be conducted.
